Ireland vs Wales at Donnybrook, Dublin on 6 February 2016. Ireland won 21-3.

In their squad of 23 Ireland had three new caps as four top backs were away on Sevens duty.

Wales actually took an early lead when Robyn Wilkins goaled a penalty  after just three minutes but that proved to be Wales's only score of the match.

Niamh Briggs levelled the score with a penalty and then centre Sene Naoupu broke and raced some 30 metres to score a try which Niamh Briggs converted.

Just before half time a break  by Niamh Briggs set Ireland on the attack that ended when lock Sophie Spence scored in the corner.

Ireland led 15-3 at half-time and deserved the lead as they had dominated the match, thwarted by the Welsh defence.

Scotland vs England at Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld on Friday 5 February 2016. England won 32-0

Scotland certainly gave of their best and at the end England's coach, Scott Bemand, praised his team for their energy on defence rather than the scoring of five tries.

It was cold and wet in Glasgow. Scotland came close in the first half but  England enjoyed a 15-0 lead at the break. In fact the Scots had the  better of the early part of the match and England opened their scoring after 26 minutes when centre Lauren Cattell scored to make it 5-0 and it was then flank Harriet Millar-Mills's turn to score her first of two tries to make it 12-0. The Scots were close when Chloe Rollie broke but it was an English penalty that ended the half's scoring.

As in the first half Scotland attacked first and England scored first, this time a try by Harriet Millar-Mills . A strong run down the wing by Rhona Lloyd put England on the attack and the forwards mauled over the line for a try by Sarah Hunter. 25-0. Substitute Lucy Demaine charged down a clearing kick by Lisa Martin to score a try which Lauren Cattell converted.

It was a 50th cap for scrumhalf La Toya Mason who had a brilliant match.
