The book is entitled Mister Ref Test referee Max Baise's story.

Max, who has a fascinating story to tell, including that fourth Test between the Springboks and the B&I Lions in 1974, is coming down from his home in Riversdale for the launch. Just meeting him is a great experience, and at 83 he is still the same Max he ever was – sharp of mind and gentle of manner.

The launch will be at the Olympic Sports Club in Station Road, Rondebosch on February 24. Max's son-in-law will bring him up from Fish Hoek to arrive at the club at about 15.00.

It is a great chance to meet the great man, talk to him and ask him questions. And it will be combined with a chance to visit the friendliest of clubs, which is 112 years old this year, and you do not have to be a member to attend.

It is the last men's club in Cape Town but ladies will be most welcome to be with Max and his autobiography on Wednesday, 24 February 2016. It will be a good place to be.
