Another day, another set of opinions from our readers, and this time there's some agreement over the Bok captaincy, and some more brickbats for Bok coach Peter de Villiers. You have the Write of Reply!
On Steve Farrell's article re the Boks' missing link...
Fantastic article Steve. Couldn't agree more with you, on all aspects, particularly the Matfield captaincy issue. Very valid points all round. Regards,

Hi Steve, I think that you have made so very good points that are probably the view of many South Africans. My question is why are we not selecting some of the other loose forwards available in South Africa? One man that I would like to see have a go at the likes of McCaw and Smith is Cobus Grobbelaar. He is doing some fantastic work for the lions at the moment. I just don't understand
what has happened to the forwards this year. They don't seem to have the same fire they had in the world cup.
It pains me to have to agree with you on the Matfield issue. I am a big Bulls fan and have a lot of respect for the big man but you are right, he isn't an international captain. Smit is getting on in years and is regularly missing games. It's time we find a suitable understudy form him as captain, but who?

On Bok coach Peter de Villiers...
Has he ever played the game in his life and at what level. He does not know the first thing about coaching a world class side. As long as he is coach we will not see another cup. This trinations should have been a sure thing. We will not even end second. What a disgrace for the world champions!!!

What "masterplan"?! Enough of this affirmative action bull***t in SA rugby, bring back Jake White and put the Boks at the
top of world where they supposed to be. At this rate SA rugby will go the same route as the other South African sports just look at the Olympics 1 medal whoopee! Bafana win the COSAFA cup whoopee! Something must be going wrong with our sports! People must be appointed for their qualities not there race! Jake White can in rugby terms be considered the "special one", his track record proves that! He is a natural winner in the moulds of "Jose Mourinho" and the sooner we realize that the better. BRING BACK JAKE WHITE!

After the first Welsh match when asked about how the players were adapting to his 'masterplan' PDV claimed "we are 90% there." Now when he gets asked the same question he says "We are 60% there." I think that tells us all we need to know about this supposed 'masterplan'

Willl the Aussies outsmart us? Probably! We've lost the plot and are now wandering in the wilderness with
a coach who talks a load of twoddle about wanting the Boks to make mistakes. The problem is that he's a mistake! Our game and discipline has deteriorated. Sloppiness has crept in. There does not seem to be any constructive plan to meet the opposition strong and weak points. Players are not prepared for the unconventional or for spontaneous acts, like quick throw-ins, and there is a dismal lack of harmony. Blame that on the coach, not the players.

They cheat, its the ref's fault, its the officials fault, We're the best team in the world..Get over yourself Saffa's. You accused Kiwis of whinging over the World Cup.For heavens sake listen to yourselves. Robbie Fleck do you recognise this quote "As I said before, these All Blacks are not too special - they're clutching at straws this season." Care to comment again after Newlands result. You Saffa's need to start doing your talking on the field not in the
newspapers..Who said cheats never prosper.

I still cannot phathom why Luke Watson is there......

Conrad Jantjes is a logical choice ahead of Percy Montgomery coz he can play the new style of rugby Pieter wants. We should play a more structured game like kicking for field position and running more with the ball!
- Grant Arnolds
Peter doesn't play Monty for ages - was he even half surprised Monty was not 100% on form?! Monty would have been great this weekend! Secondly, we need an open side flank that can win us the ball such as Wickus [van Heerden], Cobus [Grobbelaar] or [Heinrich] Brussouw! George Smith same as McCaw is going to steal every ball!
- Gerrit Coetzee
I think De Villiers doesn't know what style he is trying to implement himself. He doesn't understand test rugby never played at that
level and thus will not be successful. The All Black who had a few words for him back in Kiwi land knows more about rugby than any of the so called clevers who is know slowly busy berrying the Bokke. The rugby world is not blind.
