Newport Gwent Dragons got their Heineken Cup off to a flyer with a 32-22 win over Scottish rivals Glasgow Warriors at Rodney Parade on Saturday.
The visitors opened the scoreboard with wing Lome Fa'atau scoring the first try, and following a Colin Gregor conversion and subsequent penalty, the Dragons found themselves with a 0-10 deficit early in the match.
The hosts fought back soon after however with back-to-back penalties from Japan flyhalf and New Zealand Maori James Arlidge. Wing Gareth Wyatt scored the Dragons first try soon after, with an Arlidge conversion giving the hosts a well-earned 14-10 lead at the interval.
Arlidge proved handy with the boot again in the second half, adding two drop-goals and another penalty, while Wales veteran and Dragons player-coach Colin Charvis ran in a legendary try of his own.
Wyatt dived over for his second, while the Warriors' second-half efforts saw centre Max Evans and second row forward Alistair Kellock score a try apiece.
