Dallaglio focussed on winning

Sat, 17 May 2008 11:38

Lawrence Dallaglio says he is focussed on winning the Premiership play-offs and not his impending retirement from the game.

The former England captain is set to hang up his boots at the end of the campaign after a superb career with both club and country that has seen him win practically every trophy the game has to offer.

Wasps take on Bath at Adams Park on Sunday in their play-off semifinal and Dallaglio is refusing to get misty eyed about the twilight of his career. Instead he is focussed on what the game means to the club.

"Winning the final would be a superb way to bow out with Wasps but the club is the important thing and winning trophies," he said.

"We are where we expect to be, in the play-offs, even if we have had to do it the hard way. It was tough at the start of the season with so many players away, but as soon as they came back everything changed."
