Welsh international Dafydd James has joined Sale Sharks from Cardiff Blues until the end of the season.
Jame, 34, has been capped 45 times by his country, and played three times for the Lions on their 2001 Tour of Australia.
In 2006 he became the first player to score 25 Heineken Cup tries, a record only surpassed by Toulouse’s Vincent Clerc against Sale Sharks last October.
Sharks' Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones said: "We're delighted that Dafydd has agreed to join us until the end of the season. He can play at centre or on the wing, positions where we've had injury problems this year."
