Wales receive Jenkins boost

Tue, 09 Feb 2010 11:59

Wales will welcome back the combative Gethin Jenkins into the side ahead of their Six Nations match against Scotland on Saturday.

The British and Irish Lions prop missed out on Wales' defeat to England because of a calf strain, but looks to have recovered to offer some extra muscle and experience in the Welsh front row.

Ospreys loose-head Paul James, who performed well in the scrum against England is likely to drop to accommodate Jenkins in the starting line-up.

"Gethin is doing well," Wales physio Mark Davies told the South Wales Echo.

"We are progressing his training this week, with a view to him taking a full part in Thursday’s session.

"We always thought it was a bit tight for last weekend and he just fell a bit short."
