Brian O'Driscoll, just a match after prop John Hayes became the first player to win 100 Ireland caps, is set to be the first Irish back to the landmark in Saturday's Six Nations clash against Wales at Croke Park in Dublin.

Ireland captain O'Driscoll has already played more than 100 Tests in total after making six appearances for the British and Irish Lions.

Only 12 men in Rugby Union history have so far appeared in 100 internationals for one country and only 14 in all Tests.

The complete list of players who've reached this milestone:
George Gregan (Australia): 139 caps from 1994-2007
Jason Leonard (England): 119 (114 plus five for B&I Lions) 1990-2004
Fabian Pelous (France): 118 1995-2007
Philippe Sella (France): 111 1982-2005
George Smith (Australia): 110 2000-2010
Gareth Thomas (Wales): 103 (100 plus three for Lions) 1995-2007
Stephen Larkham (Australia): 102 1996-2007
Percy Montgomery (South Africa): 102 1997-2008
John Hayes (Ireland): 102 (100 plus two for Lions) 2000-
David Campese (Australia): 101 1982-1996
Alessandro Troncon (Italy): 101 1994-2007
Chris Paterson (Scotland): 100 2000-

Hundred or more caps in total:
Brian O'Driscoll (Ireland) 105 (99 plus six for Lions) 1999-
Martin Johnson (England) 100 (92 plus eight for Lions) 1993-2003
