Ripia returns to changed Hurricanes

Thu, 11 Mar 2010 15:14

Hurricanes head coach Colin Cooper has made five changes to the starting XV for his team's Round Five Super 14 showdown with the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.

The changes all follow the 12-28 loss to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last week.

In two changes to the forwards, Jacob Ellison comes in for John Schwalger and Scott Waldrom comes into the team for Karl Lowe at openside flank.

In the backs, Conrad Smith and Tamati Ellison return to the playing XV, returning from injury.

Smith comes in for Alapati Leiua at outside centre and Ellison takes Andre Taylor's place on the right wing.

Willie Ripia trades places with Aaron Cruden at flyhalf.

Hurricanes: 15 Cory Jane, 14 Tamati Ellison, 13 Conrad Smith, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 David Smith, 10 Willie Ripia, 9 Piri Weepu, 8 Rodney So'oialo, 7 Scott Waldrom, 6 Victor Vito, 5 Michael Paterson, 4 Bryn Evans, 3 Neemia Tialata, 2 Andrew Hore (captain), 1 Jacob Ellison.
