Cueto, Roberts return to Sharks

Wed, 08 Sep 2010 23:37

Internationals Mark Cueto (England) and Eifion Lewis-Roberts (Wales) have been named in a 27-man Sale Sharks squad ahead of Sunday's Aviva Premiership game away to Saracens.

Cueto, who toured with England in mid-year, has been suffering with a calf injury, but is now fully fit and is ready to return.

Lewis-Roberts, who played through the pain barrier at the end of last season and needed surgery to correct damage to his wrist and ankle, is also fully fit and returns to the squad.

Apart from the 37-37 draw in the opening round of the Premiership (September 2003) the 35 points scored by Sale Sharks last Friday was the highest score the team has ever posted on the opening day of the Premiership.

Dwayne Peel dropped his first ever goal for the club last Friday

Tom Brady scored a try on his debut, mirroring Mark Cueto's debut at Bristol back in 2001.

Eight players made their debut for Sale Sharks in the win over Newcastle Falcons.

Wame Lewaravu, Fergus Mulchrone, Rhys Crane, Will Cliff, Matty James and Sean Cox all played in the Jets' win at Newcastle on Monday. The Jets won 36-12. Lewaravu scored two tries and James kicked three conversions.
