Wales Under-16 won the Under-16/17 Four Nations tournament played in Southeastern France. After two tough encounters they beat Italy Under-17 41-15 in their third.

England Under-16 led France Under-17 17-0 at one stage and 24-7 at half-time but ended the match drawing 24-all. In none of their three matches did England score a point in the second half.
