Floors courts the Stormers

Sun, 11 May 2008 22:20

Springbok flank Kabamba Floors has openly admitted that he wants a move to the Stormers when his contract with the Cheetahs ends at the end of October.

The peroxide-blond flank had a public fallout with Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské last month and told Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag he would be looking to move to the Cape soon.

Floors claims his career is in a dead-end-street, and that the Cheetahs are not giving him enough opportunities.

"I have heard nothing yet from Rassie, but I wouldn't refuse it if he offered me a contract to move to Cape Town," Floors told Sondag.

"I am from the Southern Cape and I have always been a Western Province supporter with the atmosphere that they have there at Newlands. I would be dumb to say no to a good offer.

"At the moment I am not getting the opportunities in the Super 14 at the Cheetahs and I decided that I'm wasting my time sitting on the bench."

Floors is now with the Springbok Sevens team preparing for London and Scotland legs of the International Rugby Board (IRB) Sevens World Series.

"I have now decided to focus my attention on Sevens and wait to see if I get any offers from a bigger union. It would be ideal to play rugby for Province because the Sevens team is also based in Stellenbosch."
