Michalak makes his next move

Mon, 12 May 2008 15:24

Sharks' French flyhalf Frederic Michalak is in contract talks with his former club Toulouse, the European Cup Finalists have disclosed.

Michalak first met representatives from Toulouse after the Super 14 game between the Sharks and Waratahs.

Jean-Michel Rancoule, in charge of player recruitment at Toulouse, told AFP that Michalak "will be meeting the [club] president soon".

The 25-year-old international had a six season spell at Toulouse, scoring almost 500 points in 143 appearances.

Since moving to South Africa he's turned out nine times for the Sharks.

Michalak is sidelined for the next couple of months after picking up a knee injury against the Waratahs but Rancoule said his lack of fitness was not an issue for Toulouse.

"The fact that he's injured at the moment has no bearing on our choice," he stated.

Toulouse face Munster in the European Cup Final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on May 24.
