Greyling stretches his lead

Mon, 31 Mar 2008 22:29

Johan Greyling has opened a handy three-point lead at the top of our Super 14 'readers versus staff prediction game' at the halfway stage of the tournament.

In a weekend of very impressive predictions - with three of the 'experts' getting a six-out-of-six for the round - Greyling collected eight points to move further ahead of defending champion John Granger, who managed just seven points this week.

However, the most impressive performances came from Rob Peters, Phil Coetzer and Steve Farrell - who predicted the correct winners in all six games, with just their margins letting them down in some games.

Peters was the top scorer for the week with nine points and now share third place with Rudolf Mehl (eight points for the week) - just five points behind Granger.

Standings after Week Seven:
54 - Johan Greyling
51 - John Granger
46 - Rudolf Mehl, Rob Peters
45 - Phil Coetzer
44 - Steve Farrell
36 - Hennie van Staden
35 - Jan de Koning
