OPINION: Argentina dominated the first half and that proved to be crucial in bagging a 26-24 victory over South Africa as their replacements let them down in the second half.

Los Pumas enjoyed most of the first half possession and their backline enjoyed exploiting the space behind the Springboks' rush defence to gain the upper-hand. It all changed in the second half as the coach rang the changes.

However, the lead they had built up proved to be enough to claim the narrow win.

Tauriq Ebrahim rates the Argentinian players!

15 Joaquin Tuculet
Did his bit when called upon and showed how much strength he has to grab the opening try.

14 Santiago Cordero
An elusive runner who made plenty of metres each time he carried the ball.

13 Matias Orlando
Not his best game as he gave the ball away on a few occasions.

12 Juan Martin Hernandez
His running lines were excellent and proved tough to bring down.

11 Manual Montero
His big frame posed a real threat with ball in hand.

10 Nicolas Sánchez
His match awareness and reading of the game has to be up there with the best in the business.

9 Martin Landajo
Controlled the tempo of the game nicely and his service was out of the top draw.

8 Facundo Isa
Another brilliant performance in all facets and it is hard to believe that he is just 21-years of age.

7 Juan Manuel Leguizamon
An absolute workhorse who showed there is more to his game when he leapt above Habana to grab that cross-kick.

6 Pablo Matera
A brilliant performance at the breakdowns while he no slouch in other facets of play.

5 Tomas Lavanini
Did the hard yards and racked up plenty of strong carries.

4 Matias Alemanno
Continues to impress with his defensive work rate, although he could offer more on attack.

3 Ramiro Herrera
Steady in the scrums but would probably like to improve and contribute more in other parts of the game.

2 Augustin Creevy (captain)
A true leader in every sense as he sets the tone for the team to follow.

1 Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro
Probably one of a few Argentinian players who had a quiet game.

16 Julian Montoya (on for Creevy, 61st min)
Big shoes to fill and failed to make the impact from the bench.

17 Felipe Arregui (on for Chaparro, 65th min)
Came up against a tough scrum and folded under the pressure.

18 Enrique Pieretto (on for Hernandez, 66th min)
Merely came onto the field to ensure his side had the full compliment of players on the field.

19 Guido Petti (on for Lavanini, 46th min)
A few strong carries during his time on the park, although he looked a bit lost when he never had the ball.

20 Javier Desio (on for Leguizamon, 67th min)
Not enough time to be rated.

21 Tomas Cubelli (on for Orlando, 60th min)
Interesting to see him take up a centre position, however, it proved to be ineffective.

22 Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias (on for Sanchez, 46th min)
Made up for slipping some tackles by winning some turnovers and carrying the ball strongly.

23 Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino (on for Montero, 41st min)
Another elusive runner, although he may have wanted to make more metres after slipping through the first tackle.
