Team of the Week: Fast and lethal

Both sides have four players each in our XV after their wins against Griquas and Western Province.

Griquas are the next best represented with three players in our selection. the Sharks, Western Province and the Pumas are also represented.

In the backline, Clayton Blommetjies, Rosco Specman and Enver Brandt are our choices for the back three. Francois Venter and Lukhanyo Am fill our No.13 and No.12 spots.

George Whitehead is at flyhalf, with Dillon Smit at scrumhalf.

In the pack, our loose trio consists of Uzair Cassiem, Sias Koen and Kobus van Dyk. In the second row, we have Marvin Orie and Jeremy Jordaan.

Finally, in the front row, we have Justin Ackerman, Pieter Jansen and Thomas du Toit.

Team of the Week – Round Two:

15 – Clayton Blommetjies (Free State Cheetahs)

He played a big part in some of the Cheetahs' lethal attacks against Western Province.

14 – Rosco Specman (Free State Cheetahs)

He was outstanding out wide against Western Province. He scored a try and had a big hand in two others as well.

13 – Francois Venter (Free State Cheetahs)

He broke through few tackles in the Western Province defence. His offloading in the tackle also gave his side another dimension on attack.

12 – Lukhanyo Am (Sharks)

He was a menace on attack for the Sharks against the Pumas. He also got a five-pointer as well.

11 – Enver Brandt (Griquas)

He ran the Lions' defence ragged out wide and he was one of his team's try-scorers.

10 – George Whitehead (Griquas)

He needs to work on his defence, but he was a joy to watch on attack against the Golden Lions.

9 – Dillon Smit (Golden Lions)

He did a lot of good things on attack and on defence against Griquas. He also played a big role in some of his team's tries.

The big man played a big part on defence against Western Province.

He made an enormous amount of tackles against the Golden Lions and he was strong with ball in hand as well.

He got his team over the advantage line a few times. However, it was his performance on defence, which really caught the eye.

His work rate around the park against Griquas was notable, especially in the tackle.

4 – Jeremy Jordaan (Pumas)

He can stand proud. He was immense in a losing cause against the Sharks. He was powerful in the physical exchanges.

3 – Justin Ackerman (Golden Lions)

He made a big impact in open play, especially with his string carries. He was also solid in the scrums.

2 – Pieter Jansen (Golden Lions)

Scored a great try and was a hard man to bring down against Griquas.

1 – Thomas du Toit (Sharks)

He continues where he left off in Super Rugby with another commanding performance in the scrum and in open play.
