Player ratings: Falling short ... again

OPINION: Argentina looked to be in to the contest for the first hour, when they were level-pegging at 22-all with New Zealand.

However, as the All Blacks started to lift their tempo, Los Pumas ran out of puff.

In fact the lack of impact from the Pumas' bench is what cost them the game.

Jan de Koning rates the Argentinean players!

15 Joaquin Tuculet:
Was not in the game at all and missed as many tackles as he made.

14 Santiago Cordero:
Not willing to put his body on the line. He aimlessly hacked at balls he could have collected with a bit more commitment. His defence was also poor.

13 Matías Moroni:
Was very poor on defence - with only a 60 percent tackle competition rate. Also conceded a couple of penalties and made no significant progress with any of his carries.

12 Jerónimo de la Fuente:
Had very few chances with the ball in hand and like his fellow backs missed far too many tackles.

11 Emiliano Boffelli:
His long-range goal-kicking proved vital and he had a couple of decent runs.

10 Nicolás Sánchez:
Kicked too much and not very accurate either - often rather aimless. Yet still managed to score in all four ways in the first half to give his team a one-point lead at the break.

9 Tomás Cubelli:
Sniping around the fringes and some great kicking that drove All Blacks back. His basics were solid.

8 Benjamin Macome:
Some decent carries, making good ground, while his defence was better than most of his teammates.

7 Javier Ortega Desio:
Worked very hard off the ball and his tackle count went well into double figures.

6 Pablo Matera:
Missed some crucial tackles, with a completion rate of just over 50 percent. His workrate was also well below what can be termed acceptable.

5 Matías Alemanno:
He worked hard and made more tackles than most, but his set piece play was not up to standard.

4 Guido Petti:
Reduced to a defensive role and did very well.

3 Nahuel Tetaz:
Was under pressure in the scrums and cost his team dearly.

2 Agustín Creevy (captain):
His strength and ball-carrying ability was very valuable, while he won some turnovers as well.

1 Lucas Noguera Paz:
Worked hard on defence, but contributed little else.

16 Julian Montoya (on for Creevy, 67th min):
Not enough timer to be rated.

17 Santiago García Botta (on for Paz, 70th min):
Not enough time to be rated.

18 Enrique Pieretto Heilan (on for Tetaz, 65th min):
Made a few tackles, but nothing else worth mentioning.

19 Marcos Kremer (on for Alemanno, 61st min):
Apart from a handful of tackles, his workrate was well below par.

20 Tomas Lezana (in for Macome, 61st min):
Like most of the bench, there was no impact - other than making a few tackles.

21 Martin Landajo (on for Cubelli, 64th min):
Did his basics well, but no magic.

22 Santiago González Iglesias (on for De La Fuente, 70th min):
Not enough time to be rated.

23 Matías Orlando (on for Cordero, 68th min):
Not enough time to be rated.
