Team of the Tournament: Irish dominance

Ireland have seven players in the team after their exploits in this year's tournament. England and France have three players each in our XV.

Wales have two players in our side and Scotland has one player in our selection.

In the backline, we have Rob Kearney, Teddy Thomas and Jacob Stockdale in the back three. The midfield consists of Huw Jones and Owen Farrell.

Johnny Sexton is our flyhalf and Conor Murray is our No.9.

In the pack, Taulupe Faletau gets the No.8 spot. Yacouba Camara and Aaron Shingler are our two flanks.

In the second row, we have Maro Itoje and James Ryan, while the front row consists of Tadhg Furlong, Guilhem Guirado and Mako Vunipola.

15 – Rob Kearney (Ireland)

He stood up on defence in the important games and once again his attacking play out wide gave the Irish an extra dimension.

14 – Keith Earls (Ireland)

He was reliable out wide, hardly putting a foot wrong all tournament. He came close to making the list in a few of our Team of the Week selections and now he climbs all the way to the top for the No.14 spot.

13 – Huw Jones (Scotland)

He was outstanding on attack for Scotland during the Six Nations, especially in that famous win over England.

12 – Owen Farrell (England)

He was consistently good for England throughout the Six Nations. He might have missed a few tackles, but his decision-making on attack and in the territorial battles helped England a lot.

He is the competition's leading try scorer this year proving that he is a lethal finisher he is out wide.

He is the general for Ireland and his all-round performances have been key in the Grand Slam success. And who can forget that amazing drop goal against France.

His game-management throughout the Six Nations was second to none, which cemented his place as the Northern Hemisphere's No.1 scrumhalf.

He was definitely Wales' best player throughout the Six Nations. He was the go-to man in the physical stuff and he almost always got his side over the advantage line.

He is the kind of player you want in your team. His work rate is unbelievable in all facets of play.

6 – Aaron Shingler (Wales)

His excellent defensive work around the park often goes unnoticed and he was a menace at the breakdowns as well.

5 – Maro Itoje (England)

He brought a lot to the England team with his skill set. He is just such a dynamic player for a lock.

4 – James Ryan (Ireland)

He worked hard in that No.4 jersey when he was called upon. Ireland not only relied on him in the line-outs but also in the physical exchanges where he flourished.

He was immense in that final game against England. In fact, he was immense in all the game he played for Ireland.

He played out of skin for his country during the tournament. He definitely deserves his place in this team.

He was powerful in the scrums and did a lot of work around the park for England. he is going to need some serious rest soon.
