Scotland settled a two-year-old score with a convincing 37-12 victory against Tonga on the plastic pitch at Kilmarnock Rugby Park.
Of all of Scotland's defeats in recent years, Tonga remains the low point.
Head coach Vern Cotter has made four injury-enforced changes to Scotland starting XV that will play Tonga in Saturday's historic Test match in Kilmarnock.
Tonga was victorious 40-12 as power came to the fore in the second half against USA, with three tries in the third quarter the difference.
Thirty-five players have been chosen for the US national team's tour next month - which features a Test against New Zealand.
