I find it pathetic that these officials have the sole say in matters as these. This is why there is so little consistency in these citings. While I feel that there is a place for citings, this particular citing is a good example of how detrimental a citing can be for the sport if not done correctly.
Just as PDV was rightly hauled over the coals for his comments, so should these two gentlemen who also have been found to be out of their depth.
Was there appointment also a \" job for pals\" scenario? Not that PDV's appointment was, but he is clearly not the \" best man for the job.\"

We clearly don't grab every chance to explain our loss as the fault of the referees/SA reckless play as so many have suggested so maybe we can find some mutual respect and crack on with the third test?
I agree with everything said here and hope this gets sorted out for Bakkies and for rugby as a sport.

He is the team enforcer and he does play a very physical game but that is exactly what he is requierd to do. Having said that I don't believe for a second that he would deliberately want to cause another player any serious harm apart from a few bumps and bruises. ------
Congratulations to the Boks for winning the series and thanks to the Lions for giving it their all. I firmly believe that the Boks are the better team but the Lions stood up to be counted after the initial 60 minute rampage by the Boks. -------------
I am very happy for Morne Steyn who I rate very highly. I think Pienaar is an exceptional player as well but perhaps we expected to much of him after such a long lay-off. Congrats to Wynand Olivier as well. We are building a great squad where the player coming on is just as good as the player coming off and that's a great feeling.--------------
I don't think PdV is the best man for the job but having said that he has been chosen and should enjoy our full support. Lets call him on his mistakes, congratulate him on his successes and stop making evrything a racial issue. From PdV point of view he should realize that dealing with the media is part of the job and he has an obligation to the rugby loving public to represent them in a professional manner and not constantly put his foot in it. --------------

If you gave the matter at hand some thought you would deduce that Gold, Montgomery and Muir do the technical coaching and PDV is the \"face\" of the management. Unfortunetly he cannot do that either. He admitted he \"######ed up\" and was caught out by the British media.
Paul Treu on the other hand has played 15 man rugby, is a disciplinarian of note, sets extremely high standards, takes no bull and speaks no bull and thinks logically. The sevens team he put together was excellent. With Treu at the helm he will select the form players, say the correct things to the media and every-one will know exactly where they stand. He will also surround himself with the top assistant coaches and will leave no stone unturned to ensure the Bok team reaches their fullest potential.
He has really impressed me with his management skills and his oratory skills. Give him his due - he is the real deal.

Not enough SA supporters have condemned Burger's actions - he has apologised, but noteably only to his fans and team mates, not to Fitzgerald and the Lions team. That is shocking. Our dear magnanimous Mr. Gatland - all through the week while the Bakkies Botha suspension and the subsequent appeal thereof was being deliberated, him and his fellow BIL \"management\" buddies kept as quiet as secluded, meditating Monks in a high retreat. ONLY NOW, when the appeal has been turned down and there is no way that Bakkies can play in todays match, does Mr. \"fair play\" Gatland officially state that, not only him but the BIL management too, are against the suspension of Botha, that it was wrong, etc. Oh thanks very much!! Wonderful timing! Who knows what the outcome of the appeal could've been had the a...ls in that joke committee, while deliberating the ban, been aware of the thoughts/feelings of the Lions in this regard?! They obviously didn't WANT Botha to play (a hard, sometimes dirty, yet damn good lock!) and now they quickly say these \"noble\" words to make themselves look like \"sporting fine chaps\"! Ever since the 1st test I have heard nothing but whinging and crying from players and management in the BIL. Amazing. The cherry on top?...the outcome of todays 3rd test - Boks 52 Lions 12.. ZV");

It was fun to see Brian O' Driscoll in action after the speartackle in New Zealand 2005, I really thought that turned the series around and the outcome would have been better than 3-0.
To all my fellow Bok supporters who uses whitty comments and backchat and foul language on this website, I would like to say to you that it is a shame to hear you talk about opponents in this way! Schalk Burger did what he did, no shame in hiding it and he is bloody guilty.... and Bakkies did deserve to be banned, he playes hard rugby but is always ready for a fight when it is uncalled for! Being a professional rugby player, you should know better than that!
Give it up Boys the Lions were good on this tour and the outcome could have been 0-2 for the Lions if things were different.

Jake White build a brilliant team and the players he build is still there...it's time to step up and take responsibility for your team.
