CRAVEN WEEK SPOTLIGHT: With South Africa's most prestigious schools' tournament - the Under-18 Craven Week - kicking off in less than a few days, many pundits will keep a close eye on the upcoming rugby talent.

This year's tournament take place at St Stithians College in Johannesburg from  July 17-22.

Through the years the premier youth tournament has seen over 260 Springbok players come through its ranks and is synonymous with showcasing the best of South African up-and-coming talent.

Springbok legend Victor Matfield has recently been tasked to lead a panel of experts in selecting the Coca-Cola Hero of the Day recipients at the Craven Week.

The rugby pundit has already identified some of the players to look out for at this year's Craven Week.

Christopher Schreuder (Free State Cheetahs)

Currently selected as Cheetahs flyhalf, the 18-year-old from Grey College already has an in-depth knowledge of what it means to don the pivot's jersey.

He was part of the U16 Grant Khomo side and represented the Cheetahs at the U18 Academy Week last year.

Not only does he excel in rugby, but the young man is also a formidable cricketer who already made the SA Schools Cricket team.

Dylan Richardson (Sharks)

Just like his role models the Sharks Du Preez twins - Daniel and Jean-Luc - Richardson will take a spot at flank in the Sharks Craven Week team.

The Kearsney College pupil already boasts with an illustrious rugby career which includes the U13 Craven Week, U16 Grant Khomo Week and Craven Week side.

Last year, Richardson also made the South African A side.

Kennedy Mpeku (Golden Lions)

Working his way through the Youth ranks at the Golden Lions, the 18-year-old will bring vigour to this year's tournament.

The 18-year-old, who attends King Edward VII School (KES), will don the number 15 jersey in his second consecutive Craven Week tournament.

Playing at his last Craven Week, Mpeku is eager to claim that illustrious title after they  20-27 defeat against the Western Province in the final match last year.

Marnus Potgieter (Blue Bulls)

He has been drafted as outside centre for the Blue Bulls. The 18-year-old attends the Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies) in Pretoria and has been part of the Blue Bulls U16 Grant Khomo and last year's Craven Week team.

The hard-hitting centre admires All Black Anton Lienert-Brown and his only goal is to claim top honours at this year's Craven Week competition.

Vusile Dlepu (Western Province)

Part of last year's successful Craven Week side, Dlepu will want to use his experience to lead the Western Province to that elusive third successive Craven Week title.

The 18-year-old scrumhalf attends South African College High School (SACS).

*The others players on the list are: Reikerd Barnard (Pumas), Rikus Pretorius (Free State Cheetahs), Sanele Nohamba (Sharks), Muller du Plessis (Western Province) and Waqar Solaan (Eastern Province).
