There were derby matches in Kimberley, Welkom, Kroonstad, Goodwood in Cape Town, Middelburg, Bloemfontein, Grahamstown and on the Border. There were big wins for Affies in Pretoria, for Boland Landbou and for Gimmies in Paarl. In Bloemfontein Grey Bloem won the Battle of the Greys, substantially as one would expect. In Kroonstad the Blouskool beat the Rooiskool in one of the big derbies in schools rugby in South Africa. In Kimberley Diamantveld won again and in Goodwood President just squeezed home. In Middelburg the Rooibulle did not have it all their own way. In Grahamstown Kingswood recorded a good win against their cross-town neighbours. Jim Fouché had a great win over Eldoraigne, Florida over Monnas. After the drenching rains of recent times, much schools rugby in the Western Cape was cancelled. What do you think of the ELVs?
They're great, good exciting rugby
Overrated, teams are playing willy-nilly rugby
There were some promising moments and teams will settle down
