Burger Schools Competition to start

Die Burger's schools competition starts next Thursday for schools in the newspaper's main distribution area - Western Province, Boland, South Western Districts and Eastern Province. As in other areas in the country, the schools are divided into three categories - Big, Medium and Small. Each province has its own way of putting schools forward for the competition. The competition will happen in two rounds - a semi-final on Thursday (public holiday) followed by a final on Saturday. New schools atking part are Paarl Boys' High and Framesby. Marlow who won last year are not taking part. Winners in 2005 and beaten finalists last year, Outeniqua, are taking part again. Hugenote are the title holders in the Medium Schools category and Itembelihle in the Small Schools.
