Some action from KES v Jeppe
This year Jeppe play hosts to King Edward VII Schools in their FNB Classic Clash, the 74th rugby match between the two famous Johannesburg schools.
Last year KES won handsomely with their exceptional team. This year it may be different. The Jeppe side have done well since their Under-14 days and the school is expecting great things from them.
Last weekend Jeppe beat St John's and KES beat Pretoria Boys High. But the weight of history is firmly behind KES. Jeppe have won only twice since 1993, but they have renewed determination this year.
It is not all about the 1st XV match. Aport from other activities there will be 22 rugby matches. On Saturday some 800 boys will be eagerly trying to do their best for their school. But, of course, the First XV match counts most. Win that and you have won.
The headmaster of Jeppe, Anton Ferreira, in his welcoming said: "The fixture is about the tradition, pride and dedication of two of the most recognised Boys' Schools in South Africa.
"It is a showcase of two schools that have embraced the diversity of South Africa and are role models for what can be achieved in our public schools."
The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport One and M-Net from 3pm onwards.
