Schoolboy rugby
On a magnificent afternoon in Mossel Bay, warm and uncharacteristically windless, Langenhoven Gim of Oudtshoorn came from behind to beat the local team Punt 27-23 in an FNB Classic Clash.
It was a great day from start to finish on the fields and on the stand. The conduct of the two schools was exemplary, the organisation was outstanding and matches were played in a great spirit.
The match was close and generally the home side had the upper hand. They led 10-3 in the first half till Langenhoven Gim got a try just before the break to make the score 10-10.
At one stage in the second half Punt led 23-10 but then the visitors came back with three tries.
Langenhoven Gim were the better side as their forwards dominated possession but the side squandered scoring opportunities while Punt had two opportunities and used them both to score tries.
Punt praised Langenhoven Gim for being the better side and Langenhoven Gim praised Punt for their never-say-die attitude.
It was a good day.
