FNB Top 20 - 2 June 2009

Tue, 02 Jun 2009 15:08

Affies in action

It seems that being second on the FNB Top 20 is the most vulnerable position of all. This year Paul Roos, Affies, Paarl Boys' High and Outeniqua have all been there and dropped down. Last weekend second-placed Paul Roos were the ones to come unstuck.

For several years now Bishops have proved Paul Roos's nemesis and it happened again in Stellenbosch on Saturday.

Grey College, amongst others, did not play as Craven Week starts to dominate.

The truth of the FNB Top 20 is that there are so many excellent schools in the country who are all close to each other in standard that going up or down can look more dramatic than it is.

We have continued with out belief that we should reward teams which play and do well.

Those who have moved up are Affies, Marlow, Bishops, Glenwood, Selborne, Die Brandwag, Dr EG Jansen, Wynberg, Rustenburg, Westville, Noord-Kaap and St Andrew's. That's a fair upheaval.
