FNB Top 20 - 27 April

Tue, 27 Apr 2010 14:09

Rugby at its best

There has certainly been rugby activity on schools rugby fields, but above all at Affies in Pretoria. This has led to changes in the FNB Top 20 this week.

There was a change at No.1 where Grey College are back in charge. Paarl Gim and Waterkloof have made significant strides, and Bishops have come in for the first time after playing four domestic matches this season. (We have not counted the shortened match on the Schools Day at Newlands.)

Also on the way up are the Durban schools Westville and Glenwood. Glenwood have played 11 matches this year and inevitably those who play a lot risk losing. We have tried to reward the sides which have played, especially other top sides.

There are so many great rugby schools in South Africa that choosing just 20 is difficult. This week we have close look at some not in the FNB Top 20, especially Eldoraigne, Maritzburg College, Jeppe, KES, Hilton, Michaelhouse, Noord-Kaap, Die Brandwag of Uitenhage and Outeniqua, who are prepared to take on top sides.
