FNB Top 20 - 25 April

Tue, 26 Apr 2005 17:32

Monnas lose - but not top spot

Monument, so long looking so invincible, lost on Saturday to Waterkloof but they stay on top of the FNB Top 20. The played in a cloudburst in Nelspruit as the rain and hail belted down. Perhaps Waterkloof's name helped!

It was a weekend of surprises. Grey Bloem lost to Maritzburg College for the first time since 1985. Bishops beat Paarl Boys' High. Glenwood had a big, big win over DHS and Westville beat Kearsney.

Selborne gave Dale a hard time, but then Selborne are giantkiller par excellence.

Florida lost for the first time when the Nellies beat them in the wet Lowveld.

As we said last week, it is going an exceptional side to play with the top sides and remain unbeaten.

There was a tough old battle in Agter Paarl when Boland Landbou played host to Paarl Gim. It's not quite Inter schools but pretty intense.

Strand had a big win over DF Malan and Jim Fouché well won against Hangklip of Queenstown.

There has been some shifting around and for the first time this year Maritzburg College and Glenwood get onto the ladder, just a toe onto it but there..

This coming weekend there will be some top matches when Nellies play Affies and Klofies play the Rooi Bulle of Middelburg.
