FNB Top 20 - 11 April 2005

Wed, 13 Apr 2005 13:21

Strand arrive

There are changes to this week's FNB Top 20 as Strand come onto the toe of the ladder and others come into the reckoning.

This week Strand lost - but by just a single point to Paarl Boys' High. Their scalps this year include HTS Middelburg.

Do you remember the film Casablanca and the police order: Round up the usual suspects? It is good to see some of the usual suspects performing well again - Maritzburg College who beat Westville in a tense match, DHS who had a good win over Northwood, EG Jansen who hammered HTS Vereeniging and Diamantveld who are unbeaten in Griqualand West.

Several of the top sides are recovering from the Festivals. Some of the schools were at more than one and are now using the season proper to recuperate!

The FNB Top 20 for 11 April is:

1. Monument
2. Grey High of Port Elizabeth
3. Grey College of Bloemfontein
4. Paul Roos
5. Paarl Gim
6. Outeniqua
7. Paarl Boys' High
8. Affies
9. Florida
10. Daniël Pienaar
11. HTS Middelburg
12. Nelspruit
13. Waterkloof
14. Pretoria Boys' High
15. Rustenburg
16. St Andrew's of Grahamstown
17. Westville
18. Queen's, Dale
20. Boland Landbou, Strand

Those who are putting pressure on the above are Jim Fouché, who were competitive for much of their match against Grey College, DHS, Maritzburg College, Diamantveld, EG Jansen and Marais Viljoen.
