FNB Top 20 - 9 May

Wed, 11 May 2005 10:33

Enter Kearsney

There were some big matches this weekend as the big schools had a go at one another. And another of our FNB Top 20 schools lost its unbeaten record.

Daniël Pienaar went down to Riversdale and lost to Oakdale in an exciting match in which the home pack beat the visiting backs.

That leaves just Grey PE and Diamantveld as unbeaten sides amongst the FNB Top 20.

In other top encounters, Paarl Boys' High beat high-riding Paul Roos, Affies beat HTS Middelburg to win the Michelin Trophy, Nelspruit had a big win over Waterkloof as Grey PE did over Queen's, Monnas over Florida and Grey Bloem over Selborne.

Maritzburg College continued their winning ways with a tough victory over Glenwood in Durban.

Kearsney College, who were late in starting their domestic season because they were off to South America, are just into the FNB Top 20.

St Andrew's of Grahamstown are also back in action after their holidays and had a good win over Dale.

Some of the he schools in the FNB Top 20 put their places in jeopardy through not playing top schools often enough or at all - Rustenburg, Jim Fouché, Strand and Diamantveld.
