FNB Top 20 - 21 June

Tue, 21 Jun 2005 16:46

It's getting harder

It gets really hard to do the FNB Top 20 when many schools are not playing - for exams, Craven Week warm-ups and a manufactured long weekend as a warm-up to the midyear holidays.

It's hard to reward a side by promotion if they have not played and hard to demote a side below non-playing teams!

Boland Landbou deserve a reward for beating Paul Roos. Florida, Bishops, Affies and Pretoria Boys' High. Selborne who have not been in the FNB Top 20 this year did their giantkilling act again, this time beating St Andrew's.

Paarl Gim nearly had a wobble against Brackenfell and Grey had a close encounter with the fine Daniël Pienaar side.

Glenwood drew with Kearsney and Hilton had a big won. Centurion won the Stadsbeker in Pretoria and now go on to play Waterkloof.

The truth is that there is little to separate too many schools, including those just below the Top 20.

In the end we have nudged Paul Roos down and Boland Landbou up.
