Hawke's Bay march on

Sun, 13 Jul 2008 18:26

Hawke's Bay continued their Air New Zealand Cup pre-season march with an emphatic 42-19 win over Waikato at McLean Park in Napier on Friday.

It was the fifth successive win by a Hawke's Bay side and follows last week's convincing 26-10 by the Magpies over North Harbour. Other pre-season wins include a Hawke's Bay XV beating Wairarapa Bush 77- 0, Bay of Plenty 61- 45 and Poverty Bay 96 - 0.

Against Waikato on Friday the Magpies opened a 21-0 half-time lead to kill off the game as a contest, before scoring three  more tries in the final quarter to race to a convincing win.
