Lotawa gets the long arm of the law

Mon, 25 Aug 2008 09:15

Auckland player Watisoni Lotawa has been cited for allegedly striking Manawatu player Francisco Bosch with his elbow in the Air New Zealand Cup match between Auckland and Manawatu at Eden Park, Auckland, at the weekend.

Lotawa was cited by Citing Commissioner Jim Meates for the incident in the 24th minute of the second half of the match - which doubled up as a Ranfurly Shield Challenge and was won 25-3 by Auckland.

The citing was reviewed by Citing Complaints Review Officer Roger Drummond, who decided it should go through to a hearing.

Lotawa will appear before Judicial Officer Peter Hobbs at the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) offices in Wellington on Wednesday, August 27.
