White's Boks beaten by a 'class team'

Springbok coach Jake White believes that although his side were without six of the forwards that played in the World Cup Final win over England, the Barbarians had earned their 22-5 victory over his side at Twickenham on Saturday. White, whose tenure as coach of South Africa's national side came to a disappointing end, praised the Baa-baas for playing in the same manner they would have done had they been playing for their respective countries. "It was always going to be a tough fixture," the departing Bok coach said. "We lost six of our forwards from the World Cup Final and there were a lot of class players in their team. "But I think the one thing we must never forget is that rugby union has a history and we must never erode that," he added. "The way the Barbarians played for the jersey, it was like they were defending for their countries."
