Roberts waiting on scan results

British and Irish Lions centre Jamie Roberts will know on Thursday exactly how serious his tour ending wrist injury is and whether or not he will be available for the start of the rapidly approaching Magners League season.
The Cardiff Blues player hurt his hand in the second test of the 2009 Lions tour and was forced to return home ahead of the final encounter in Johannesburg but had already done enough to secure himself the prize of ‘Lions Player of the Series.’
Forming a magnificent partnership in the midfield with Brian O’Driscoll, Roberts made a number of great line break both in the warmup matches and the first two tests.
Standing 6ft 3in and weighing in at 16st 11lb, the powerful Welsh star could be used as a battering ram and yet, at the same time, showed great skill and composure in tight situations for the Lions.
With 12 Welsh caps already to his name Roberts has played both at fullback and wing for his country but now looks set to continue at inside centre after such an impressive showing in South Africa.
Roberts is due to have a scan on Thursday morning in Cardiff.
