Wilkinson 'scores' without kicking

Thu, 06 Mar 2008 22:57

Without kicking a ball, England's 2003 World Cup-winning flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson tied Neil Jenkins' world record of 1,090 international points and should make the mark his own in the Six Nations game against Scotland on Saturday.

The International Rugby Board (IRB) on Thursday announced it had given Test status to the British and Irish Lions match against Argentina in May 2006, when Wilkinson scored 20 points.

Adding those to Wilkinson's total, he is now level with the retired Jenkins and appears certain to go ahead when England meets the Scots at Murrayfield on Saturday.
