Wins for Pumas, Eagles and Leopards

The Pumas, Eagles and Leopards were made to work hard for their victories in the Currrie Cup First Division at the weekend.
Pumas lock Johann van Heerden scored a try five minutes from full-time to help his team beat the Griffons 30-24 in Welkom on Saturday.
The previously unbeaten Griffons could only manage to score one try and a penalty try to the visitors' four tries.
The Griffons led 24-23 five minutes from full-time thanks mainly to the boot of flyhalf Jacques-Louis Potgieter, who kicked 14 points.
His opposite number, Pumas pivot Tiaan Marx scored one of his team's tries and kicked ten points in his side's victory.
Cheetahs number eight Ashley Johnson was the mainstay of the Griffons pack and Howard Noble impressed when he came off the bench,but the Griffons couldn't produce their sparkling form of earlier in the season.

The SWD Eagles beat the Mighty Elephants 29-6 in their First Division clash in George on Saturday.
The Eagles opened the scoring early on when their nippy scrumhalf, Hendrik van der Nest, crossed for a five-pointer. Flyhalf, Ricardo Croy, on loan from the Western Province, added the extra two points.
Both teams then converted penalties to bring the half-time score to 10-6 for the home team.
The Eagles scored three more tries against the run of play in the second half, via replacement centre Izak Saayman, Croy and Allistair Kettledas.

The Leopards beat the Border Bulldogs 29-19 at East London's Absa Stadium on Friday to retain their place on top of the log.
The scores were level at 12-12 at the break.
First half Bulldog tries were scored by fullback Russell Jeacocks and captain and flank Solly Tyibilika whilst left wing Colin Lloyd and centre Japie Nel scored for the Leopards.
An early second half try by centre Thabo Ratyana converted by Stuart Hudson put the Bulldogs ahead 19-12 but a drop goal by flyhalf Clayton Durand and a try by replacement fullback Anvor Schooney, convereted by Durand, saw the Leopards ahead 22-19 with 15 minutes remaining.
A converted try by replacement centre Basil de Doncker on fulltime sealed the win for the
Leopards.
