Naqelevuki denies signing for Saints

Sun, 20 Jul 2008 11:49

Western Province's Fijian centre/wing Sireli Naqelevuki, who has been absent without leave from Cape Town for three weeks, has denied signing for Northampton Saints in England.

Naqelevuki said on Saturday that he would return to Western Province once he had sorted out some administrative issues in Fiji.

"I have spoken to the officials in South Africa, and I will return back," Naqelevuki told Times Sport.

"I cannot say by when I will leave, but there are some family matters which I have to sort and then go.

"I haven't signed a deal with any other club," he said.

Meanwhile, Fiji team official Semi Rogoyawa - Naqelevuki's long-time mentor - said the negative reports had to stop about the star and that the media needed to be responsible over its speculation.

"It is not good to see so many negative and untrue stories coming out, as it is not helping his image," Rogoyawa said.
