Bulls go Bok hunting

Mon, 25 Aug 2008 09:07

Blue Bulls coach Frans Ludeke will know by Sunday which of his Springboks will be available for the remainder of the Absa Currie Cup competition.

Ludeke said on Monday that they will discuss the availability of the Springboks during a meeting with SA Rugby in Johannesburg on Sunday and after that the Bulls will have more clarity about the role players such as Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Bryan Habana and Pierre Spies will play in the Currie Cup.

Bakkies Botha will miss the entire Currie Cup due to injury, but good news for the Bulls is that Akona Ndungane and Derick Kuün are fit to play against the Western Province in their Round Nine match at Loftus Versfeld on Friday.

Kuün recovered from a niggling hamstring injury that he picked up in the week prior to the match against the Falcons and Ndungane had a few problems with his hip flexors.

However, Francois van Schouwenburg and Zane Kirchner are still going to be on the sideline for a while.

Van Schouwenburg broke his hand against the Lions and will in all probability be back in four week's time while Kirchner's injury will sideline him for another week or two.

What do you make of Bok coach Peter de Villiers's biblical statements?
He obviously knows the Bible well
He is just deflecting attention away from his lack of coaching knowledge
He should leaves his sermons for the dressing room
