'Popular' Brüssow remains a Cheetah

The Free State Cheetahs on Friday received a huge boost ahead of their Currie Cup clash against Western Province with the news that star flank Heinrich Brüssow will remain with the Free State outfit for the immediate future.
Brüssow indicated on Friday that he had put his faith in the Cheetahs and their coach Naka Drotské for another two years, having signed a contract extension that would keep him with the Bloemfontein union until at least October 2010.
The flank's new contract represents somewhat of a coup for coach Drotské, considering that the Sharks and WP were reportedly very keen on recruiting the openside flank.
Brüssow's skills as a fetcher have been duly noted after he dominated the Super 14 statistics as a ball-hunting openside flank.
According to OFM Sport, much of the credit for Brüssow's decision to stay with the Cheetahs must go to sports agent Stephan Weyers and Cheetahs Logistics Manager Jaco Peyper.
