Fickle SARU change WP's goal posts

Fri, 26 Sep 2008 22:05

The South African Rugby Union (SARU) has announced that the Currie Cup fixture between Boland and Western Province (WP) on Saturday will in fact take place at Boland Stadium in Wellington as originally scheduled.

This follows a SARU statement late on Friday afternoon that the round 13 fixture (which is a scheduled home game for the Cavaliers) would be moved to Newlands Stadium due to the poor underfoot conditions at Boland Stadium.

SARU have now announced however that the game will take place in Wellington as scheduled and not at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.

Match referee Christie du Preez will inspect the Bosman Stadium field at 11.00 (09.00 GMT) on Saturday at which point a decision will be taken on whether the game can go ahead.
