First choice flyhalf Peter Grant has been cleared to play for Western Province in Saturday's do-or-die Currie Cup clash against the Lions at Newlands in Cape Town.
Western Province coach Allister Coetzee has confirmed that Grant has overcome his ankle injury and passed a fitness test during Friday's captain's practice. Province have to win by at least 19 points and secure a bonus point. They must also deny the Lions a bonus point if they are to ensure their qualification for next week’s semifinals.
Percy Montgomery, who was on standby to replace Grant, is on the bench.
With no rain predicted, a firm and dry playing surface is expected at Newlands, which will suit WP's attacking game.
