Bok will give WP the edge

Kitschoff was cut from the final Springbok World Cup squad that was announced last Friday by coach Heyneke Meyer.

John Dobson was full of praise for the prop when he spoke in an interview: "Steven, I know is disappointed. We thought he was the best loosehead in South Africa during the Super Rugby tournament, and not to go to the World Cup is a great disappointment."

Dobson has confirmed that the 25-year-old will start against the Griquas, and that he is prepared to give his best to ensure that Province will get back to winning ways.

Nic Groom will also be available for selection after a good performance against Samoa, where he represented the Barbarians team that won a  thrilling match that ended 27-24.

Dobson has plenty to ponder over after his charges lost two consecutive Currie Cup matches, both away to the Blue Bulls and the Free State Cheetahs respectively.

Currie Cup debutant scrumhalf, Godlin Masimla had a decent game against the Cheetahs but Dobson will probably go with the experience of Groom with Masimla on the bench.

"Godlin did a reasonable job but as I expected he got tired because he hasn't played for a while," he said.

Scrumhalf Jano Vermaak has still not fully recovered and will not be available for this coming weekend's clash with the Griquas.

Dobson was not happy with the amount of errors his team made.

"This game [against the Cheetahs] we just made three errors which saw us 3-25 down in 20 minutes, the next 20 minutes we won 18-3.

"We came short but showed great character," added Dobson.

Looking ahead at this coming weekend's match against the Griquas, the Province coach is confident.

"We are going to look at some changes, we put ourselves under pressure over the last two weeks and therefore there will be changes.

"Scarra [Siyabonga Ntubeni] will start and Bongi [Mbonambi] will be on the bench.

"What we really want to do is keep perspective," said Dobson.

Province captain Nizaam Carr was adamant that the team will fix the problems of the previous two losses.

"We want to fix what we did wrong and hopefully this week we can turn things around," said Carr.

"You have to play with confidence and if you do not display that then you are going to struggle".

Dobson believes his team has regrouped and he wants to focus on certain areas of their game.

"I'd like us to be better off turnovers, at the moment we not getting them, and we giving them away," he said.
