Watson out for the season

Watson has undergone a successful operation for a knee contusion with a cartilage flap.

However, the Eastern Province Kings captain will not be available for them until the start of the pre-season training.

Brent Janse van Rensburg will be happy that the Kings haven't picked up any new injuries after their bruising 40-37 final-minute victory over Griquas last weekend.

Prop Lizo Gqoboka has still not fully recovered from the dead leg he sustained at training last week, but he will be assessed later in the week.

Shane Gates is in the final phase of his rehab after he suffered a fractured fifth meta-tarsal in his right foot.

George Whitehead will only be ready for training in three weeks after he underwent knee surgery.

Siyanda Grey suffered a hamstring tear and he will be out for the rest of the season.

Cameron Lindsay is schedule to have surgery on his knee on Wednesday, 30 September.

Aidon Davis will be out for six months and Gary van Aswegen for three months after they both had knee surgery.
