Lions rest their stars
With the semifinals taking place next week and with the Lions being assured of top spot, the clash against the Kimberley outfit provided Ackermann with the perfect opportunity to rest a number of his frontline players.
The side will be captained by scrumhalf Ricky Schroeder while a host of Under-21 players have been given the opportunity to taste Currie Cup rugby in this last game of the pool stages.
Up front Robbie Coetzee returns after a two week lay-off and is joined by Pieter Scholtz at tighthead. The locks are Luvuyiso Lusaseni and Martin Muller while Albertus Smith, Fabian Booysen and Ruaan Lerm will form the loose trio.
Mark Richards and Sampie Mastriet are the wings while Vainon Willis will slot in at fullback. Jaco van der Walt comes into the flyhalf position in place of Marnitz Boshoff and he will be joined on the park by his brother, Gerdus, who is in the No.12 jersey. Jacques Nel is at outside centre
The bench also boasts few new faces in Mark Pretorius, Jacques van Rooyen, Bobby de Wee, Lohan Jacobs and Salom Gavor while Stephan de Witt and Rohan Janse van Rensburg will also watch proceedings from the sideline.
