Pumas too good for Bulls

The win for the Pumas meant that they will stay in third place on the Currie Cup standings at the end of the weekend regardless of other results in the round.

There were also wins for the Leopards, Boland and the Falcons in Round Six.

Blue Bulls 13-25 Pumas

The Blue Bulls were the first to score when centre Marquit September went over for a try to give his team the lead after 22 minutes.

A few minutes later Joshua Stander extended the home side's lead with a penalty before the Pumas turned on the gas before half-time.

Tries by Frankie Horne, Reynier van Rooyen and Marcello Sampson in five minutes gave the Pumas a 15-10 lead before Stander reduced the deficit to just two points before the break with a penalty.

The Pumas were the only team to score in the second half via a Justin van Staden penalty and a Hoffman Maritz try to give the Pumas their fourth win of the season.

Boland 56-17 Griffons

Griffons wing Selvyn Davids scored the first try of the game after Theuns Kotze opened the scoring with a penalty for the home side.

The game was turned on it's head when Griffons hooker Khwezi Mkhafu was yellow carded for high tackle. Boland took full advantage of the extra man when Ryan Nell and Zander Jordaan scored a try each – both converted by Kotze, who also added a penalty – to give Boland a 20-7 lead.

Danwell Demas, Nico Scheepers, Marnus Hugo, Edwin Sass and JC Genade also crossed the whitewash for the home side as the Griffons' defence crumbled under the constant pressure.

Griffons did manage to score a try themselves in the second half, but it was not enough to stay in touch with a rampant Boland side.
