Loubscher's rollercoaster ride ends at Sharks
NEWS: Former Springbok assistant coach Ricardo Loubscher has joined the Sharks coaching team ahead of this year's Currie Cup Premier Division.
Director of Rugby Gary Gold confirmed that Robert du Preez will be the team's head coach for the Currie Cup campaign and he will he be assisted by his fellow Super Rugby assistant coaches - Omar Mouneimne, Sean Everitt and Ryan Strudwick. Loubscher joins the team as a skills coach, on a three-year contract.
Loubscher has been assisting the Pretoria Boys' High Under-14 team this year. He was struggling to find a full-time coaching job since finishing his four-year spell as Heyneke Meyer's backline coach in the Springbok setup.
Before that, he was involved in the Bulls' coaching structures under Frans Ludeke.
"Having previously played at The Sharks, Ricardo will be making a welcome return to Durban in his new role as skills coach," said Gold.
"He has enjoyed success in his coaching roles with the Bulls and Springboks and we look forward to having him join our set-up."
