Citing excessive interference by the board and the executive of the Boland Rugby Union, experienced coach Alan Zondagh has resigned from his post of Director of Rugby with immediate effect.

This surprise decision follows Boland's success in qualifying for the Currie Cup Premier Division for the first time after ending 2015 second last in Division 1.

In his coaching career Zondagh coached Eastern Province, Western Province and the Saracens of England. He took up the post of Director of Rugby at no cost at all to the Boland Rugby Union. In his eight months' tenure he helped in bringing playing success to the union in the Currie Cup and the Boland Under-20 team.

Zondagh started his Rugby Performance Centre in 2005 and made its campus available to all Boland teams as a professional training center. He will continue to manage the Centre and also the Boland Rugby Institute.
