Wing Duncan Matthews and prop John-Roy Jenkinson both suffered contusions to their quads in that match. However, team doctor Herman Rossouw confirmed that their injuries are not too serious.

Hooker Jaco Visagie picked up a shoulder injury and was due to have a scan on Monday to determine the full extent of the injury. Again, Rossouw was confident that Visagie's injury was not too serious.

Meanwhile, the trio of Dries Swanepoel, Tony Jantjies and Ruan Steenkamp are all set to be available for next week's match against the Golden Lions after they returned to training this week.

Currie Cup captain Steenkamp missed his side's opener because of a hamstring niggle he picked up against the Stormers in Super Rugby.

Swanepoel was out with quad contusion he sustained in the National Provincial Challenge semifinal against Western Province three weeks ago.

In terms of long-term injuries, Jamba Ulengo, Jade Stighling, Johnny Kotze, Rabs Maxwane and Jacobie Adriaanse are all making good progress from their respective injuries and a decision on their availability for the Lions match will be made next week.
