Bath's last shot at glory
Tue, 20 May 2008 09:56
Bath Rugby have one last shot at silverware this season, after being knocked out in the Guinness Premiership play-offs by London Wasps at the weekend.
With one week until the European Challenge Cup Final Bath's focus will now turn instantly to Kingsholm, but even the prospect of silverware will not alleviate the disappointment of a 10-21 Premiership semifinal defeat.
It was a titanic tussle in which the outgoing Heineken Cup champions squeezed an 11-point victory to send them into the Twickenham Final against Leicester Tigers on May 31.
Bath, who challenged for the lead in the Premiership all season, and have already secured a place in the Heineken Cup competition for next season, can still end the 2007/8 campaign on a high with victory over Worcester on Sunday.
Steve Borthwick plays his final game for the club before he makes a summer switch to Saracens. The England lock has made 52 European appearances, scoring three tries.
